Right now Shadowcraft is built on many assumptions based on abbreviated twitter details and vague patch notes. These need to get done right before Shadowcraft is ready.

 

This thread will require a screen shot, or clip of a combat log of some sort, before any question is marked answered. If you think an answer has changed, or is incorrect then by all means call it out. Please keep responses strictly about answering, clarifying, or correcting a question/response.

 

The current list of questions is as follows, but may expand.

 

Questions:

  1. How have the 2 and 3 roll (combat table) systems changed?
  2. What are the new boss armor values?
  3. Has the armor formula changed with them?
  4. What are the new stat coefficients/conversion rates?
  5. What leveling perks are additive? What perks are multiplicative?
  6. What abilities are affected by readiness?
  7. How is passive energy generation calculated with the various new mechanics?
  8. How is max energy calculated? Gnome racial specifically.
  9. How do glyphs that modify ability CDs work with readiness?
  10. Does Nightstalker affect DoTs, like Rupture?
  11. Is Internal Bleeding affected by RvS or Executioner?
  12. Can Internal Bleeding be ‘Sinister Called’?
  13. Have the rules for Seal Fate changed?
  14. Does the Assassination 2p obey the same rules as Seal Fate?
  15. Is the Combat 2p additive or multiplicative?
  16. How does the Combat 4p work with Anticipation?
  17. What triggers Main Gauche now?
  18. Does MG still have a chance to trigger Combat Potency? If so, how.
  19. Is Blade Flurry impacted by the AOE cap? If yes, how?
  20. Anything and everything about Shadow Reflection. That tooltip might as well be 2 words that say “fuck it”.
  21. What is the new damage formula and scaling for Touch of the Grave?
  22. Are there any damage types/sources that aren’t affected by Assassin’s Resolve? Bandit’s Guile? Sanguinary Veins?
  23. Are any attacks not normalized?
  24. What are the proc rates and effects of the new trinkets, procs, etc?
  25. Are any mechanics still mislabeled? IE, attack speed vs haste.
  26. Does the second Mark of the Frostwolf refresh the first stack, or are they independent of each other?
  27. Is Mark of the Shattered Hand a "pandemic dot"?
  28. Refreshing an active Mark of the Warsong sets the current stack to 10, and not adds 10, correct?

Can poisons be applied from multi strike procs ? If so, will they be applied with full damage or with reduced damage because of multi strike ?

8. How is max energy calculated? Gnome racial specifically.

now lets have a look at gnome (Racial bonus +5% Energy)

when u compare human and gnome energy values u see its pretty much straight up +5%. For example LvL 100 Assasination with both (venom zest & glyph)  155*1,05 = 162,75  (character info shows 163)

Shadow Reflection applies a 16 second debuff on the target. During the first 8 second the shadow just stands there watching your abilities, adn then during the remaning 8 seconds the copy performs the same actions you did during the first 8 seconds.

 

The copied abilities performed by the Shadow Reflection use new rolls to determine damage, hit, crit, multistrike etc. (Green outline)

Shadow Reflection also copies Multistrikes off of white hits (again with new rolls) (Purple outline).

Bonus: Shadow Reflection does copy Killing Spree, if there was any doubt it would act in a different way compared to other abilities. (Blue outline)

11. Is Internal Bleeding affected by RvS or Executioner?

 

Internal Bleeding is unaffacted by RvS

 

20. Anything and everything about Shadow Reflection. That tooltip might as well be 2 words that say “fuck it”.

 

Shadow Reflection can be used while stealthed and it will copy the usage of Ambush.

It will use Vendetta but it will fade after the 8 seconds. SR also will copy your usage of rupture but will only tick ~4 times.

Some testing:

 

  • Hitting 32(33) Enemys with 1 Melee and 1 Eviscerate

Its 32x the melee damage (1109) and 32x the Evis damage (5054). Skada shows this also:

So the cap is not true for BF (atleast right now)

UPD Nevermind this post, I misinterpreted the results from the previous post. Thank you Pathal.

Doesn't AoE cap mean that starting from X targets (X=20) you'll be hitting each target for less damage so that total damage is normalized to 20 targets? The test for that would be: (a) hit 20 targets total with BF, record damage done by BF. (b ) hit 21 targets total with BF, see if damage done by BF to a single target is 19/20 of the damage done by BF to a target in the previous case of 20 targets total.

At least that's how it used to work in WoW for a long time (the general AoE cap that is, not the BF cap in particular which always used to have specific limitations until now).

 

PS Why 19/20? It's my guess, because I suppose that AoE cap of 20 includes the main target, so in test a there'll be 19 BF targets and in test b there'll be 20 BF targets (which, including the main target, is above the 20 cap).

This guess could be wrong (depending on how exactly the AoE situation with BF is treated in game code).

Each hit would do 20 / actual_number_of_enemies of the damage otherwise. So 20 enemies hits for the normal amount (20/20=1), 40 enemies hit for half the normal amount (20/40=.5), 60 enemies would hit for a third of the normal amount (20/60=.3333).
 
5054.4/12636 = .4 so the math checks out. I'm going to assume that the count of 32 enemies is correct. If BF were affected by the AOE cap, then a 12636 Eviscerate should be hitting for 3159 at 32 targets.

  • 15% - 3141 Backstab Damage (its only 10%, 15% would be 3289)

  • 0% - 11905 Damage
  • 10% - 13096 Damage
  • 20% - 10582 Damage (Bugged? -10%?)
  • 50% - 17857 Damage, 30% would be 15476

26. Does the second Mark of the Frostwolf refresh the first stack, or are they independent of each other?

 

28. Refreshing an active Mark of the Warsong sets the current stack to 10, and not adds 10, correct?

Tested on a boss-dummy in stormwind.

 

Nightstalker:          Garotte non-crit dmg: 221          Rupture non-crit dmg: 1252

Shadowfocus:        Garotte non crit dmg: 221          Rupture non-crit dmg: 1252
