I'm finding the only thing I'm wanting out of this now, because of the proc setting of Maelstrom Weapon, I'm suddenly wanting a GCD bar.

I've been trying to get this to work, but it's not even showing up in the addon list for me. I've downloaded v2.6 from WoWInterface to help with the testing of MW, but no go.

Have you gotten any other reports of this nature with v2.6? If not, what kind of information do I need to provide to troubleshoot this problem?

Also, I'm having trouble connecting to the SVN and I'm getting the error:

Server sent unexpected return value (405 Method Not Allowed) in response to

PROPFIND request for '/wowace/branches/ShockAndAwe/WotLK'

Is adding additional classes in the plan?

Such as the other melee hybrid, Ret (who has 4 cooldown abilities, Divine Storm, Crusader Strike, Judgement of X, and Hammer of Wrath).

Sorry not in the foreseeable future. I don't have a ret pally so would have no way of testing it, and I definitely don't have the time to level one to 70 before patch 3.0 hits :) Once patch 3.0 is out my focus will be on levelling my shammy and my priest and ofc a Death Knight with inscription. Then starting raiding with my guild at 80. I very much doubt therefore that I would look near leveling a ret pally for quite a few months to come.

Still only showing 2.51 at wowinterface.com.

Yeah looks like it didn't get approval straight away or the upload failed or something. So I've pushed a new version 2.61 which removes the icon suggesting LvB when you get 5 stacks of MW.

I'm finding the only thing I'm wanting out of this now, because of the proc setting of Maelstrom Weapon, I'm suddenly wanting a GCD bar.

I have added the suggestion of a GCD bar to the TODO list.

Have you managed to download the addon from WowInterface? If you have, I take it you have unzipped the file into your addons folder and restarted wow (not just log out from your char but RESTART wow - wow only loads a new addon from a fresh start - Wow won't load the addon if wow was running when you installed it). If you follow those normal instructions for installing an addon it will show up in your addons list.

There is a new version 2.61 up on the WowInterface site now you can download it directly from this link http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/download10730-ShockAndAweformerlyDisqoDice

Regarding the SVN. Wowace have now closed their doors to users and have become a developer only community. This is a situation that is obviously out of my hands. The SVN has been shut down, and the addons moved to a new site, at Curseforge.com. Users will now need to manually download their Ace addons from an addon site or use the new CurseUpdater. There is a lot more info at the wowace site World of Warcraft - WowAce.com but bear in mind their focus is now developers.

Can you reposition (or make them re-orderable in the menu) Lava Lash so that it is lower than Earth Shock? That way the bars are in order of the priority of SS -> ES -> LL

Also would LOVE an option so that Water Shield only shows up when its not up.

I was looking at allowing a reordering although it requires a fairly major rewrite from fixed name bar frames to indexed ones. Much easier is flipping the two and I'll do that.

Not entirely sure what you mean by the water shield one. I'm guessing you are looking for it to be hidden until its down? Then it pops up to warn you? Then if you cast the shield the bar disappears again? If this is what you are after its a very easy option to add a "Hide Active Shield" option and apply to all shields.

BTW on a complete tangent are you aware that it also works with earth shield? If your are in say a 5 man and a Resto Shammy sticks up an Earth Shield on you then it shows a green shield as it replaces your own shield. I used to get an ES when I tanked the first mob in Maggy encounter, so it can happen, it's just not terribly common that we are off tanking :) The one and only time I used an epic shield I got as a "oh well you can use a shield can't you, better than disenchanting as bank is full of void crystals already and you ever know when you might use it". Ha I thought thats just a bank slot, at the time we'd never bothered with Maggy, ended up going back after the nerf because some members wanted the quest complete, and shield had a use after all!!!

Yes that's exactly what I want it to do. I don't care how long Water Shield or Lightning Shield have left on duration, I only care about noticing when they're down. I find it distracting to have the bar there all the time during solo content.

V2.63 should be up on wowinterface as soon as file is approved. It now has the bars in the order you suggested, and has an option to show/hide shield when shield is active.

At first, i love disqodice and i will love shockandawe.

Could you may add support for different fonts via SharedMediaLibrary? You already did this for bar textures and i would love to have the same option for fonts, just to make shockandawe fit into my ui a bit more.

BAH!! Just this second finished the border textures and someone asks for fonts now!!! ;)

V 2.93 works fine now for me on Beta

Really good work...I think I keep it :)

One further suggestion:

I keep the old (und pretty useless) TotemTimer for one reason: I can give keybindings to stuff like Water Shield, WF or FT via the key selection menue (don´t really know the official English name, sorry).

Would it be very difficult to add something like that ?

And your pictures show a symbol of the shock in front of the bar, but thats not showing up when I use it.

Also I got no effect from "show LB/Lvb-Icon when MW is up", when selected I cannot see anything special when MW is up...what am I supposed to see when I choose this option ?

Hope that was understandable...it´s late, I´m tired and old and loosing my battle against a foreign language right now...*grumbling and heading for bed*

I've not done anything previously with keybinds I can investigate how that would work.

On the icons, I've currently had that turned off whilst testing. I'll need to turn it back on to see if I broke anything in a recent build, servers are down at present though.

The icon on the MW bar was meant to suggest either Lava Burst or Lightning Bolt depending on a number of factors eg: LvB off cooldown, FS on target for 100% crit guarantee etc. However with the change to Lava Burst not being affected by MW this is redundant now. I should tidy up the code and remove all signs of lava burst.

Silly thing to bring up, but I'm having trouble configuring the size of the timer bars. It's not very intuitive, and I have so far made the whole thing vanish with the /saa frames scale command (tried 70, 200, and 1000 - couldn't figure out if scale was % size or pixel size or what). On my UI, the bars take up WAY too much space - both in width and height - and I am just not figuring out the right commands to resize it. Is there a way to make them smaller (a click and drag feature on the edges maybe) that I haven't been able to find?

Hmm the scaling code dates from the old DisqoDice addon and not something I've really touched. I'll look into it though. The scale command should work - easiest is to use the blizzard interface rather than command line to set it. Press ESC to get menu click interface and addons tab then select ShockAndAwe - this gives you access to all the config options including a slider for configuring scale which resizes the frame as you scroll the slider.

Levva,

I don't suppose you'd be willing to add an alternative skin for the maelstrom counter?

I started using it yesterday and while it provides a wealth of information, as stated above does take alot of space.

I scrabbled up an idea to retain it's functionality, and yet also make the size more manageable.

Sorry for the image size, I'm not sure how to resize them for the forums in a post. They are in PNG format so they retain their editability if you want to use it. If not shoot me a PM and i'll kill them from the post.

Ugh, please don't make this the "Everything and the kitchen sink" addon. This works fine for what it is, an Enhancement shaman addon. There's tons of general purpose totem management addons out there.

With regard to the scaling. It can scale from 0.25 to 3 times its size. I can change this range if people want it even smaller.

The issue would seem to have been that everyone was using the command line to configure the addon and its not at all clear how to set the scale. I've updated the help message to give the valid range.

I've also added a message to recommend that you DON'T configure using the command line and instead use the Blizzard menu. ie: Press ESC, select interface then select the Addons tab and click on ShockAndAwe to get all the config options in a very easy to use graphical interface.

On the other issue of keybinds for totems etc. Malan is right there are lots of Shaman addons that deal with totems. The focus of this addon is Enhancement Shamans and their abilities. So I won't add totem stuff. That doesn't mean to say I won't hack around a different addon for totems and generic Shammy stuff that might have extra options for Enh Shaman.

My design philosophy is to add new features that people suggest or I feel would be useful but always to make them optional. Also any optional setting will NOT do any processing if the option is off. This means that those people who use one or two features will not be penalised because others want more from the addon.

Version 3.0 will be up shortly. I noticed a few gotchas once patch 3.0.2 went live - one of which was missing initialised variables if on first logging in you get kicked off the server and it thinks it had set everything up. A rare occurence but it happened to me - compounded by having zero talents at the time - thus exposing a rare bug where it would crash with nil values, due to no talents and partially created setup data. The GCD bar's spark also seemed to be offset in the opposite direction that it was on the beta!!

I've also added something I have missed since long ago I stopped using Shaman Friend. The display of the total value of a WF or SS proccing WF hit. So now there is an option to display in SCT (Scrolling Combat Text) the total damage you did in that single strike (hit + 2 WF or both SS hits + 2 WF).

Ah, yes, that worked much much better for resizing. Thank you. :) Now I just have to learn to pay attention to all the bars. I have - until now - been just using SS every time it was off CD.

Along that line of thought, I saw today that the author of ShamanFriend said he had no intention of continuing the addon. I used it for the weapon buffs missing warnings (sound/chat/error frame warnings), and the purge feedback (spammed chat output with what buffs you removed). Think those fit with ShockAndAwe?

Bug report - latest version has some option "/saa bars break1" that throws a lua error if I try it. Caption says "bars section"

One glitch I've found is that when I'm duoing with my girlfriend's enh shammy, if she Stormstrikes, then I stormstrike, the stormstrike bar shows up for a split second then disappears.

Thanks so much for this addon you are doing a great job with it :)

Bug: I am using v 2.9.3 and when i try and change the texture to one of the ones in sharedmedia i get the following error:

ShockAndAwe.lua:1288: Attempt to find 'this' in a non-table object (used '.' instead of ':' ?)

I do have a feature request though: Can you add a method to disable bars/sounds when out of combat and have them re-enabled when in combat?

[e] for formatting.

I never spoke about Totem management, and you are right to keep it focused on its originally purpose.

Keybindings for weapon enchants and shields was all I thought of, because its nice to have, but not essential.

TotemTimers has been updated too, so this may be covered by enough other tools.

I played around only a little bit yesterday, looks stable so far. Nice range of sounds for MW, call me a satisfied customer :)

Yeah Weapon Buffs missing is on todo list. I need to think of how best to deal with choices of weapon buff. I'm currently thinking of the options menu having a MH & an OH drop down so you pick which buff you want on which weapon (perhaps with a WTF are you thinking error msg if someone chooses Rockbiter :D). I could then incorporate a keybind to check if missing and rebuff with one key perhaps.

I can add purge feedback to the list too.

I noted the command list "break1" issue last night when investigating the scaling issue and noted that the header rows (eg: break1) were showing in the command line text report. V3.00 tidies up the command line and adds a help option suggesting people use the built in blizzard gui config panel that I've spent a lot more time fixing. I'd not noticed the command line issues because other than /saa version and /saa moveframes I never used the command line.

V3.00 is available on wowace.com as an alpha, it includes support for showing WF/SS total damage in Scrolling Combat Text if installed. However time ran out last night so I committed what I had done and will work on it again this evening.

One glitch I've found is that when I'm duoing with my girlfriend's enh shammy, if she Stormstrikes, then I stormstrike, the stormstrike bar shows up for a split second then disappears.

Hmm interesting. Can you confirm the version you are using please. It may just be that the filtered combat log wasn't not properly filtering on only personal spells. I re-wrote the combat log handler for version 3.0 (see above for availability details) so it may already be fixed.

Thanks so much for this addon you are doing a great job with it :)

Thanks for bug report. Yup that's a simple typo, will fix for v3.00. I can look at adding an explicit hide out of combat option. For now have you tried turning off the shield bar when its up? The shield bar should be the only one that displays out of combat, unless you leave combat with 5 MW and leave it hanging around warning you for 30 seconds!!

I never spoke about Totem management, and you are right to keep it focused on its originally purpose.

See above I can see if I can add keybind for weapon enchant. The problem with shield keybinds is which you use. I suppose if I can figure out keybinds for weapon enchants adding a couple of extra keybinds for the shields should be easy as there would be no need to have any other interface bar the blizzard keybind section.

BTW I was thinking about your previous comments when I added the "LevelUp" loud noise on 5 MW. Difficult to miss that every 3 seconds by default :) Of course it can be changed or disabled for the younger crowd ;)
