Also you're addressing your post to an idiot whose post I deleted. Why? You've tested pvp on the beta, you could just start out by saying "I tested pvp on the beta and here's what I found." If it's interesting enough to post publicly, you don't need to single out one bad poster to advise. (And if it's not, use a PM.)
Since they more or less fixed resilience in the last PTR patch I feel it's finally worthwhile to start testing at least some PvP in preparation for Cata's first arena season. Sorry about the block of text, I couldn't find any really good breaks I liked to split it up.
On Live I value mp5 over crit, and so far on the PTR I don't feel any different about this. Crit will only net you mana if you have Water Shield active. WS uptime can vary wildly in arena and battlegrounds alike, making it inconsistent. mp5(Spirit after patch) is garunteed no matter how many target swaps there are, not to mention moments where you not only need to switch ES targets but also need to get a heal in tow ASAP. You won't have the globals to get WS up beforehand. Now, with that said there is a lot less crit from talents on the PTR than on Live. However, I'm not seeing as big of a loss as I thought I would thanks to all the Int I now have in PvP gear (nearly double the mana pool). I only have 17.5% on the PTR, with Tidal Waves granting me another 30% on HS. On Live I have 25.37% with another 25% from Tidal Waves on LHW. Now, you might be thinking with all this new found mana you could spare some spirit for crit to increase burst healing. This would be true if not for that fact that haste is hard to get in Shaman PvP gear. If anything you would reforge extra spirit to haste. Especially with Shaman PvP gear choices for haste being extremely limited. This is less of an assumption about 85 PvP gear than it is an educated guess based on cast times for Hex in comparison to the other CCs on the PTR and Wowhead's beta site. Hex is unchanged for both range and cast time. Fear/Poly are 2 second cast times with 30/35 yard ranges. Cyclone remains at 20 yards but was given the 2 second cast time as well. It's hard to swallow that Blizzard just forgot about Hex. Especially with the changes to Druid shapeshifting (Polymorph and Hex can no longer be shifted out of by Druids). Unfortunately it just occurred to me to test Lichborne for that change as well. As for Mastery I'm still testing that. Even with the base values it is excellent. I might just end up writing haste off for Mastery thanks to Hex still being a 1.5 second cast.
The PvP Shaman healing model feels identical to what it is on Live. HS aka LHW is still the only non-instant heal you cast outside of NS+GHW. I will add that if you made your way up in rating in past seasons without juking interrupts a whole lot you will need to start doing that more. The lockout times for interrupts has not been changed, but you no longer have focused mind.
