First of all, hi to all on my first response.
Second, here is an idea for more 'diversified' discipline mastery:
Our main role is damage prevention, and I think our mastery should keep that philosophy.
That said, our current mastery, while keeping that philosophy, 'only' empowers one of our spells, so it encourages us to use it, and as iLvl of items grow, more it will.
- To avoid that problem, I sugest an efect like that of Holy priests (add a mini renew on all heals), but with our philosophy in mind: Make our mastery add a mini-pain-supresion buff, with parte of the effect depending on our mastery rating. Something like:
"All your heals put a buff on the receiver of the heal that mitigates 2% of all damage received (+0.4 per point of mastery) for 5 secs"
how does it stack when 2 or more disci-priests in raid?: allow stacking, but allow a maximum number of that buff per target (maybe 5) to avoid exploits, but allow discipline stacking.
Of course, the numbers have not been calculated to be balanced or anything, so may be over or under powered, but it would diversify our mastery rating over all our healing spells.
What do you think of the idea?
