Ok. This might sound like s stupid question but I'm slightly confused about it, and am wondering if there is a straight forward answer to it. How much Hit do I need. I thought i was looking to get 8% Hit, reading under the Melee tab in your Character Frame. A guildie (Whom is not a Death Knight, I add.) told me that I needed to also stack hit until my Spell was hit capped too, which makes sense seeing ad Death Knights have Spell abilities. So I then proceeded to stack Hit until all three tabs, Melee, Spell, and Ranged are all Hit capped with a 0% Miss Chance. I feel like this is completely wrong and I have way too much Hit because I'm sitting at a little over 10% Hit now under the melee tab. Someone help me please? Lol. If He was wrong about that, that would be 2% Hit I could be putting into more Haste and/or Mastery.
2H frost needs 961 hit rating, which corresponds to 8% melee hit. This will also cap spell hit as well. DW Frost needs 601 hit rating, which is 5%. You get 3% from talents, totaling 8%. To get spell hit cap, one would need 820 rating. The 219 hit rating to reach this won't exactly be "wasted," but it is certainly better to try and reforge the points into haste/mastery.
Ranged hit rating doesn't matter for us. Offhand miss rate for DW can be ignored, completely not worth it.
