And that's that for Hyjal. Granted, it only took three hours or so, but my life expectancy is probably about three years shorter as a result. I think people who describe Archimonde as a loot pinata must have fought a different version than we did. We had the version where Air Burst also causes UI lockups, and where Fear teleports people into nearby Doomfires. Or at least that's what people kept telling me after every wipe.... Seriously though, fun fight, and I think it's actually pretty well-balanced and a fitting end to what will be a pretty cool zone once they finish reevaluating and adding loot/rep to the trash waves.
At least we finally had some awesome drop luck after a monthlong weapons drought, to boot.

DnT killed him the night they saw him, I believe. We had spent 40 mins on him on Tuesday just feeling out the fight, and actually got him to like 29% on a fluke dry run 30 mins after seeing him, where he probably could've died right there if we'd gotten another lucky break or two. It took a bit more work after that though to make it more consistent and actually achieve the kill.
3 hours learning after you engaged him for the first time ever ?

He died the evening we attempted him.
It's a really interesting fight to be fair, but being feared into Doomfire and taking the damage is particularly anal, especially considering what happens to the encounter when someone dies.
Air Burst is a hilarious mechanic and something quite unique and well thought out.

Also grats Zarplex on occasionally sprouting wings.
He probably already has a macro set up to un-equip and re-equip his helm.
