It's Monday so I'm being nice. Blizzard will balance the game as they see fit, whether you 'trust them' to balance it your way is not up for discussion.
I can't imagine them switching arrows to durability. While it sounds like it would make sense, every shot would reduce durability until it reached 0? How many shots would that be? Would we have to repair to keep raiding? I guess an analogy to tanks could be made since their armor/shields take hits on every fight, but it doesn't sound right for arrows.
Maybe the damage decreases as the arrow durability goes down, so it doesn't break at 0, but does minimum damage. Since its not on the PTR, doesn't look like we'll see an arrow change this patch.
More importantly, as can be seen with the current effects of volley on ranged weapon durability and how long it has taken to correct the issue, I'm not sure I trust them to implement this correctly or quickly patching the repair issues as they undoubtedly would come up.
I'd rather they didn't even think about that road of changes. I hope they just give us this nerf list, let us test it until the next set of raid instances, and let us adjust.
On the other hand, if the ammo changes were that arrows would be added that augment a certain shot type (say a certain bullet/arrow added 10% steady dmg) and you could pick and choose your ammo types, that would be a much more interesting proposed change. Arrow durability instead of a replenish-able supply is not an interesting change to me. If that is even a consideration of theirs right now, I'd ask them to please refocus their energy on something more beneficial and useful.
