[Alliance][Aerie Peak] <Drunken Bandits> Recruiting Exceptional Raiders
Posted 12 January 2009 - 07:13 PM
Drunken Bandits was started by a group of friends as a guild with a focus on progression but also with the intent of maintaining a friendly atmosphere. We have a great group of folks who have spent a fair bit of time learning about their classes and being prepared for raids. This has allowed us to progress quickly with a 9 hour a week raid schedule. Personality is very important to us, experience has taught us that we can teach someone how to play the game, but we can not change who they are, so being a friendly, helpful and well intentioned person is key to success in Drunken Bandits.
We also value dedication and preparation in our raiders. The thinking behind this is that we believe we are more than a casual raiding guild. While we may not fall into the category of hardcore, we all want to succeed and if you intend to join the team, you must buy into this mentality. People that show up to raids without the proper raid consumables, enchants etc, will be asked to leave or removed from subsequent raids until the problem is resolved.
Currently we are farming Naxx 25 for gear and working on OS2Drakes. We are hoping to be prepared to move quickly into Ulduar when the patch is released.
Presently we raid on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 5PM PST, sometimes our Sunday raid is moved to 4pm PST to accomidate scheduling needs of our raiders. Our raids last approximately 3 hours and we start invites 15 minutes before the first pull. While we do not use a DKP system for our 10 man raids, we still expect raiders to be on time and prepared. For 25 man content, we currently use the EPGP Loot system. The details of our EPGP implementation can be found on our website.
The officers of Drunken Bandits all have families, jobs, friends, responsibilities outside of wow, we respect your time and it is our goal to help you make the best of it when you are raiding. We do try to run a pretty tight ship and get a lot done in a 3 hour raid window. In order for this to be successful, we need your cooperation.
Who are we looking for:
Drunken Bandits is looking for players who have taken the time to learn the intricacies of playing their class but realize that there is always more to learn. We are looking for players who have a good attitude and who enjoy being part of a successful raid team. A couple of specific things that would set you above others are as follows:
-The desire to learn and grow as a player
-The drive to go out and read boss strategies, watch videos to get ready for a raid
-Always being prepared for a raid and being willing to do what is asked of you
-A good attitude about raiding both in good times and in bad
-A sense of humor
More specifically when it comes to raiding, we have the following requirements
-Having your gear fully enchanted
-Being on time is of paramount importance, leaving 9 other people waiting is not cool
-Coming to the raid prepared with flasks, pots, buff food, bandages and any resist gear that is required
-Signing up in a timely fashion and updating your status if something changes on our web based calendar
-Deadly Boss Mods or Bigwigs installed
-Ventrilo is required for voice communication
-A threat meter (We recommend omen)
Recruiting Needs:
Our doors are always open to exceptional players who have a desire to join us and have experience in raiding end game content. While we may not be looking for a particular class, this does not mean that you should not apply if you think you are the type of player that we are looking for or if our principals are in line with your own.
We do have some other specific needs at the moment, which will be given priority and they are as follows:
1 Resto Shaman
1 Shadow Priest
We would like people who have at the very least cleared all 10 man content. If you’ve been to 25 mans and cleared some content, that would be a bonus.
