I may be wrong for assuming what I am but for me I am almost positive the more haste or faster the oh weapon speed gets the more the EP value and in fact actual value of hit goes up in Combat builds. Lets simply take a look at what SND does now and how it affects haste etc for a Combat Rogue. 40% up from 30% is allot of speed I was just toying around in a heroic on my rogue Hallagenic who has 335 base haste or without group buffs a Mh/Oh weapon speed of 2.36/1.27 using CG/Webbed. Albeit that this isn't an optimal gear setup but i already see some possible drastic changes.
Lets take the new SND and add that to my speeds. Now my normal combat speed because i keep SND up 100% of fight duration can be calculated at 1.69/.91 which I believe is a substantial increase from what my speeds were before.
This alone may not effect the way hit is calculated for combat by much, but if you take this with a grain of salt and say that the new version of Lightning Reflexes does go live.
Lightning Reflexes – reduced to 3 ranks. In addition to 2/4/6% dodge, this talent now also grants 4/7/10% passive melee haste.
Then hit along with Combat Potency may become much more valuable then it is now. Does anyone have any opinions on this and leaving out discussion of new stats on 3.1 gear could you see an increased value for hit in the future?
