"u" is a letter, not a word.
I'm incredibly tempted to make a long-winded response to the sub-thread about guilds not delivering on their recruiting posts.....
Liking the long winded shit there
The main thing that you and others are hitting on there is the motivation thing. You basically describe a situation where if one had a group of technically motivated raiders you would expect that group of raiders to be able to listen and adapt and make the necessary adjustments to that plan on the fly because they have all been there before and have done the encounters loads. Despite not performing the exact same role amongst a different group of people its reasonable that u should still beat the content... but u dont =s In reality people are a lot more socially motivated in their playing decisions than they often let on.
You probably had two major things happening there;
a) When things start to go wrong, rather than thinking about the problem (that may have just arisen because of a discrepancy in the way you execute your plans) people will have just started to play the blame game and start trying to prove obtuse points about the two different ways that your guilds undertake the problem at hand.
A large portion of your raid is made of up people who are not motivated by the same technical things as you are. Just wanting to be there for the journey can be enough of a stimulus to play well, but it generally means that self examination is done by comparison to others and often leads to people omitting or over-emphasizing key points of play. Ever had a raid wipe at noth because the mage / shammy / drood who never took any credit for de-cursing wasn’t there? Its not something the "for the journey" type player will ever see when things are going well, so if u expect him to do it off the bat in another scenario often they wont.
The sad thing about this things happening is they tend to happen when your guild needs it the least. Its very easy to observe the exact same things in your own guild when certain key figures are removed from your raid. The people who could perform their allocated task in the mold just start to fail because they basically need more hand holding than technically motivated raider.
