That's a nice blog post (with a bonus post signing!). Now that you have all that off your chest, it's time you started reading the thread.
I have been healing with my druid since I hit 80 (I played feral tank in tbc), and even if it has been months now, I am still trying to work out how to best fulfill my role, and what that role actually is. I have read extensivelly many posts on this forum, and it has brought up some thoughts. Although some of those may be better suited to other threads, they all in the end pertain to resto druid pve healing. So, here goes:
In my guild, my raid setup allows me to be almost exclusively a raid healer. There are very rare occasions when I am obliged to serve as tank/off tank healer (Auriaya pull mostly). I have been thinking about kicking out Tranquil spirit from my talent tree, and putting the saved points into Nature's grace and Natural perfection (I can gain another point that I need by stealing from Revitalize).
I would also remove Nourish glyph and put in Regrowth glyph. At the moment I have three t8 pieces, and if I get shoulders I will have 4 set bonus which will kick up my Rejuvenation considerably and add even more to my haste rating.
Those changes are a result of the change in playstyle I have implemented since starting 25 man raids. While I was healing in heroics, RJ, LB + Nourish worked wonders for tank healing, but, in 25 mans there is simply no time to stack multiple hots on many raid members. So I have started relying very heavily on regrowth as my primary hot and direct heal. I combine with WG, and I toss RJ around whenever I know I can expect heavy damage on multiple targets (frozen blows on Hodir is one example). LB does not even enter the rotation (except when on tank).
By pumping up my crit with Natural perfection and adding more haste on proc with Nature's Grace, I think that regrowth becomes much more functional then Nourish. I have had 4k hps output already on heavy damage fights, and I think it can go up. So, contrary to some posts claiming that haste and crit are both (in different amounts) not so important as spell power and/or pure stats, I have found them more than useful.
It might have been better if I rolled paladin But, my druid is my first and only love, and I wish to be able to give the best possible performance.
So, what do you think of the changes I propose?
