Casually Serious is a guild for stellar players who cannot or do not want to commit to the time-intensive raid schedules of traditional "hardcore" guilds. If you want to kill Arthas, but your significant other doesn't understand that "lame fantasy thing you do," then we might be what you're looking for. We are also home to a number of people with school or work commitments that don't allow them to consider <Elitist Jerks> an option.
We raid Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-11 PST, even after patch releases and during progression races. That's right, just 8 hours a week. We are one of very few guilds to progress with such a light schedule. Accordingly, we run a very tight (fewer than 30 raiders) roster with the expectation that our members achieve near 100% attendance. The guild was formed to take advantage of some of the "casual friendly" changes that were brought by WotLK, and we have successfully pushed the limits of what can be achieved by great players on a "lolcasual" schedule. Tribute to Skill is complete, Algalon down (the first reset!) and HGotUR complete. Death's Demise is our current goal, along with pushing for Insanity.
Loot is handled by /random with a "don't be a douche" clause, and loot council override for legendaries and key items.
Balnazzar is a low-pop server centrally located in Dallas with zero lag, no queue, a surprisingly good economy, and a healthy battlegroup.
Progression nuts and bolts can be found at: WoWProgress.

Who we expect you to be:
Applicants will only be considered if they demonstrate intelligence, exemplary skill, a thorough understanding of game mechanics, maturity, a command of the English language, and above all a complete and total lack of epeening, douchebaggery, asshattery, and anything else that would make you unpleasant to be around. We all get paid to deal with idiots and assholes, why should we pay to spend our leisure time with them as well? In order to be considered for promotion, in addition to demonstrating the above mentioned attributes, applicants will also need to fit into the existing guild culture, contributing without conflicting or annoying. Check your ego at the door.
We are currently looking to pick up an amazing holy paladin, and will consider experienced, talented players for the spot.
We are also looking for a resto shaman, and a rogue. Be awesome or don't bother applying.
We will always consider exceptional applicants of any class. If you are awesome (and you would know if you were) then please give us the pleasure of considering your application.
If that sounds appealing, and you meet our admittedly high expectations, then I can unequivocally promise you that Casually Serious will be the best online nerd experience you will ever have the pleasure of being a part of.
How to apply:
PM me on these boards, visit our website, or send me an email at Chupavida at gmail.com with:
Ez-mode Application Template:
- Armory link:
- Any lvl 80 alts worth mentioning?
- What are your playing hours?
- What is your guild history?
Feel free to hit us with a wall of text here.
- What is your prior endgame raiding experience?
Go ahead and skip this if you covered it in the previous question.
- Why do you want to leave your current guild?
- Why do you want to join this guild?
Have a good reason. Lewts is not an acceptable answer.
- Why should we choose you over other qualified applicants?
- Tell us a bit about yourself (especially anything that could affect your ability to raid)
- Describe your computer (Processor, GPU, Ram) and your internet connection (ISP, speed, reliability).
Your computer and connection need to be good enough and reliable enough for high-end raiding. If either could be a liability, please explain.
- Please list references who would be willing to vouch for you.
- Please list some out-of-game contact information.
- Please provide a current WoL/WMO/WWS parse for the class/spec you are applying for.
Not really optional. If you don't have one, make an effort to get one. If you are not in a position to get logs that will show us what we need, we will consider inviting exceptional applicants to trial without one, with the disclaimer that if you do not end up meeting our admittedly stringent requirements, you will have wasted your $50.
- Please include a link to a screenshot of your current UI.
Can you commit to near 100% attendance to scheduled raids?
(Tues/Thurs from 7-11 PST)
(if the answer is no, then don't bother applying)
While we are committed to not wasting people's time and money, and we do our best to only trial people who we feel are a good fit, our first priority is always the long-term health of this guild. If at the end of your trial period we aren't convinced you would make a good addition to our core, we will not promote you, and in some cases (personality conflicts), ask you to leave. Please transfer only if you are confident both in your playing ability, as well as your interpersonal skills.
Do you understand this?
