The first post shows 13k hps for a single target disc rotation. I used the spreadsheet with the same stat values shown on the front page, full raid buffs, 33/8/0 spec and proper glyphs, yet I'm only coming out to 8.7k hps using a modified version of the disc heal rotation in the spreadsheet (5 shields, 8.88 Heals, 10 Gheals, 2 Binding Heals, and 6 Penances per minute). Based upon HPS/HPCT values it seems like it should be heavier on either Binding Heal, Greater Heal, or Flash Heal in place of a lot of the Heal casts. Can anyone give me an idea of what kind of spell usage would bring the rotation closer to 13k hps?

I also tried a rotation using only GHeal and Penance, and came out to 8.6k hps while being very draining on mana, at 2.3k mana/sec.

Check your Time to Heal, and keep adding Greater Heals until it is slightly less than your fight length, which should reduce your Heals to keep the rotation time at 1 minute. Also, I added 5 ProMs in the rotation, which may have not been entirely fair since I didn't do the same with the Holy single target rotation. Taking those out and filling it with Heal and Greater Heal, its closer to ~11475. Thanks for catching that!

But, as I disclaimed, I'm not completely satisfied with the modeling of Disc rotations because Borrowed Time isn't being accounted. It should show a higher HPS with a lower Time to Heal, so in theory it wouldn't change your total output at all. But I'm hoping our RAWR model is finished soon, since it has a better capacity to deliver precise results.

I was reading through the stat weightings in the OP and was wondering if anyone had translated those over into values usable with the PAWN addon or lootrank? Otherwise any suggestions would be beneficial as I would like to start building upgrade path lists for 85.

I am currently working with the following priorities:

Intellect > Spirit > Haste > Mastery > Crit

I am stacking intellect and reforging to spirit when available and reforging away from crit.

I will say maybe I am just missing something from the theory and generally understand the weightings but am trying to arrive at a balanced formula that includes all stats.

Honestly if they achieve thier goals for cata then you will not be able to stat weight your gear like you can now as so much will be dependent on the skill of your dps at keeping a fight short and not taking unecessary damage. Otherwise the suggested priority from Carnathagia is probably as good as it is going to get.

Latest round of hotfixes says they're buffing smite's damage to match heal in an attempt to make the archangel spec viable. I'm glad to see they're trying to make it work, now they just need to up the range on it a bit.

The Hot from Holy mastery doesn't work the way you seem to think.
The total value of the hot is updated with each additional heal. It adds the new heal's mastery % to what's left from the current hot, and generates a new tick value over 6 seconds.

In a nutshell, it's good for tank healing. For raid healing the efficiency depends of the damage pattern and healing tactics.

This mechanic seems to follow the same rules as a Fire Mages' Ignite. Is it known whether this also causes the same problems with simultaneously hitting spells, aka "munching"? It might be a non-issue due to lack of heals with travel time, but it shouldn't be overlooked.

They really do. A few more Yds on the range would vastly improve the atonement spec for most encounters. I just get the feeling that it hasn't been done and possibly will not be done due to the way it might imbalance PvP.

I would say Atonement would need about a 15-18 yrd range to be really useful on encounters against plus sized boss mobs, but as you could imagine, a priest spec'd as a smite cannon in PvP can do quite a lot of damage and even I could see where that could become a bit overpowered.

I've actually been curious if it would be possible for the designers to code the spell so that the range begins at the edge of the targets hit-box. That would allow it to be useful on any mob. I assume it's either impossible or would require too much work though sadly.

Lightwell HoTs have very recently started functioning properly with haste (Definitely with 4.0.3a or one of the recent rounds of hotfixes). The haste at the time Lightwell was cast is being used and absolutely does gain ticks following the normal model of (2k-1)/2m in the OP. In other words, the most mana efficient ability in the game got significantly better. Obviously this also means it is wise to use with Heroism/Bloodlust if possible.

Lightwell Plateaus - 3 ticks base
4 ticks | 5 ticks | 6 ticks
16.6666...% | 50% | 83.3333...%
Edit - Here are the rating conversions. This will follow the same format found in the haste section of the OP.
Condition|50% (Lightwell x 5)|16.666...% (Lightwell x 4)
85, 1/3|6212.7|1986.4

Last time I checked the beta and live 4.0.3, channeling spells such as Penance, MindFlay and the various hymn didn't gain any new tick whatever the amount of haste. Was it postponed to a future patch ?
