Anyways anyone see this article about 4.2 SPriests? The stat weights he claims he got from simcraft are REALLY out there...
Spiritual Guidance: Patch 4.2 shadow priest trinkets
Running the 359 shadow priest profile in the current SVN simulationcraft with default options +DI for both Live and PTR settings, I get nothing even close to those values:
I have no idea what settings Mr. Van Allen used for his simulations.

359 stat weightings and 372 are very different from what I've seen. As you add more Haste other stats gain in value.
I'm aware of that, but the article states "We'll calculate these stats assuming a best-in-slot, non-heroic geared, four-piece tier 11 shadow priest on a Patchwerk (stand-and-DPS type) fight" [emphasis mine]. 372 run for comparison:
I'm concerned about the large difference in Spirit and Hit value for the 372 PTR run; I'll do another set of stat values with 50000 iterations instead of 10000 to see if the gap narrows and edit this post with results.
Edit: ilvl 372 run at 50000 iterations:
These numbers are more inline with expectation, but Simulationcraft is reporting an error estimate of just over 0.02 for this run at 50000 iterations. Hit/Haste/Mastery are close enough in value that I'd want to see results with 100000 or 500000 iterations before I'd make any definitive statements about their ordering. I have seen nothing to make me think that Mr. Van Allen's results posted in the article in question should be taken as representative of all shadow priests.

Adds shadow_word_pain_2, vampiric_touch_2 and mind_flay_2 actions. And a Priest option: double_dot=[0|1]. If set to 1 then when you generate the action list it will include those 3 spells in the action list. As it's just a hack the target of the spells will be the same default target however otherwise they function like you're double-dotting. You could think of it as double-dotting on V&T if you're always able to reach both targets and don't get the Engulfing Magic buff. ;P
I included some profiles which have these actions included: Priest_Shadow_T12H_2dot.simc, Priest_Shadow_T12H_DTR_2dot.simc, Priest_Shadow_T12N_2dot.simc and Priest_Shadow_T12N_DTR_2dot.simc
I'm also now generating scale factor runs off all the various Shadow Priest Tier 12 profiles with Patchwerk style (i.e. no movement), Light Movement and Heavy Movement.
Check the links or go to the SimulationCraft front page.
I also took the time to fix the heroic profiles to remove the 391 Rep/VP wrists, cloak and trinket as it seems they won't be actually available. I replaced the Wrists and Cloak with the Heroic Firelands drop ones and the 2nd best trinket with my simming was DMC: Volcano.
Also DPS results for:
Note that these numbers assume a 1% proc chance on the DTR and Dark Intent has been enabled for all profiles.

If it's a matter of time, I'd be willing to help out.

Let me think on it.
*edit*: I have created the SimulationCraft for Shadow Priests thread. Any SimulationCraft specific question should be directed there.

Particularly with the damage buff to MB and SWD in 4.2, what impact would this have on our output? My initial tests have given positive results, but I'd like to see if anyone can confirm or deny the usefulness of this. Note that my gear setup greatly prioritizes haste over mastery, so the lack of shadow orbs are less of a worry during the burst phase.
The mana gained from the DA usage outweighs the loss of mana efficiency in this short burst. I end up with more mana after DA wears off than i had before popping it, and so I have been using it as soon as it is off cooldown rather than saving it as an emergency mana boost. Particularly once a boss is below 25%, the mana from DA plus the mana gained from prioritizing SWD first leaves me with plenty to jump back into a normal rotation.

I based my theory on simcraft results. DMC:Volcano beats Ragnaros Trinket heavily.
DMC: Volcano just too awesome. Dont buy reputation awards trinket. Replace Mirroro with Focus and it have to be BiS.
