What is SCP looking for currently?

Holy/Disc Priest:

You should be comfortable playing both these specs and should of course, enjoy healing. Bonus points for knowing when and where each of these specs may be most effective.

Resto/Ele Shaman:

Swap flawlessly from chain heals to chain lightning.

Paladin:

You love Touched by the Light...wait, no. You think TBTL is a gimmick spec and love the new Paladin changes.

Who Are We?

Serious Casual of Mal’Ganis is a large guild formed mainly from the community of Elitist Jerks forums. Many came together and found that the large guild population supported a raiding roster. SCP was the first group to form, and we blazed through Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep, Black Temple, and scored our first Illidan kill the very week before Sunwell opened up. Caught up to the rest of the raiding world, we progressed in Sunwell steadily and completed it before the massive talent changes that were put into place to herald Wrath of the Lich King.

Where Are We Currently?

SCP is at this time, the most progressed raid group in Serious Casual. At this time, WoWProgress has us pegged at the following rankings:

Worldwide: 317
US: 132

We don’t get world firsts, but we do make progress, and we make it on a lighter schedule than many other guilds do. We have FL, XT, IC, Hodir, Thorim, Freya +2, Mimiron, Vezax, and Yogg complete. All that's left is Freya +3 (we're at wave 6), and Algalon.

What’s Our Raid Schedule Like?

Wednesday 8-11 CST
Thursday 8-11 CST
Sunday 7-11 CST

That’s ten hours a week. I expect applicants to have no problems with these three raid days. We understand that things happen from time to time, but please don’t apply unless you can make all three of these days. We do ten hours of progress a week, and I want them to be sharp.

How Does Loot Get Distributed?

Loot is primarily done via /random. From time to time, loot is distributed in order to flesh out set bonuses or for progression purposes. Overall though, we adhere to a policy of modesty – if you’re lucky enough to win a piece or two of loot in one night, don’t be a douche!

Guild Culture

Our raid group consists of people who are in the 22-27 age range. Most of us have completed college. Some are new fathers. We’re a bit older than a lot of many other guilds. To that end, we value our time and how we spend it. I’m looking for raiders who are inquisitive, who aren’t afraid to experiment and give feedback to others on how to improve. I’m looking for raiders who strive to be the best at what they do, who don’t lose track of what’s going around them, and have good judgement-making abilities and ‘fess up when they make errors. Raids are generally laid-back and we don’t suffer any drama.

How do I apply?

Send Riot a PM on the Elitist Jerks forums, or reach him in-game on Rioht. His AIM/MSN will be available upon request. Tell him about yourself, what prior guild/raid experience you have, and an Armory link. If there are any spec/gear discrepancies you think may be useful to explain, please do so. If you have any questions, please ask them.

If all goes well, the next step is an interview over Ventrilo, and finally, a trial.

Best of luck to any who apply.

***Sunwell Experience Preferred***
